Our Debut Album “EnCouleur” wins OPUS KLASSIK
June 25, 2025

We are thrilled to share very special news with you: our debut album “EnCouleur” has been awarded the prestigious OPUS KLASSIK – in the category “Classical Music Without Borders”!

This award means the world to us. As a percussion ensemble, we operate in a niche within classical music. That makes it all the more moving for us to have convinced such a distinguished jury with our project. It’s a powerful sign that percussion instruments deserve their place on the great stages of the classical world.

Our album “EnCouleur” is the result of five years of intensive work. It features arrangements of French works by composers such as Debussy, Ravel, Saint-Saëns, Milhaud, and Tailleferre – all reimagined for so-called mallet instruments: marimbas, vibraphones, and glockenspiels. Our goal was to transfer the rich palette of these compositions into the world of percussion and open up new sonic landscapes.

The album was released in October 2024 on Solo Musica (SM467), and we’re overjoyed by the warm reception it has received – both from the public and now through this special recognition from OPUS KLASSIK.

We want to take this opportunity to say a heartfelt thank you – to all our companions, supporters, friends, and patrons who have accompanied and encouraged us over the years. Without your enthusiasm, trust, and help, this milestone in our career would have been very difficult to reach.

And for those who haven’t heard the album yet: “EnCouleur” is available everywhere – in stores, online, and through our website, which also offers further information, audio samples, and concert dates.

With great joy and heart,
TrioColores

Release Concerts "En Couleur"
September 25, 2024

When TrioColores performs the works of French composers, up to 2 marimbas, 3 vibraphones, and 2 glockenspiels are used - sometimes more, sometimes less. The three Swiss and Austrian musicians allowed themselves five years of development work for their first album program. The common denominator: a great passion for exploring the infinite potential of percussion instruments.

Arranging music for mallet instruments has become a heartfelt project for the trio, which has reached a milestone with the completion of "EnCouleur." With their arrangements, they create a unique repertoire in which the music not only receives a new sonic garment but also gains a completely new expression in the nuanced language of percussion.

At the release concerts, alongside the album program featuring masterpieces by Maurice Ravel, Claude Debussy, Camille Saint-Saëns, Darius Milhaud, and Germaine Tailleferre, there will also be a world premiere by Fabian Künzli. The Swiss composer engaged artistically with the music of "EnCouleur" and created a composition that interacts artistically with the program.

TrioColores looks forward to welcoming you to the concerts at the Kirche Altishofen or the Rathaus Frauenfeld!
